David Moffat’s Loving Cup Still on Display at Union Station.

If you haven’t seen it yet, stop in at Denver’s Union Station soon. It’s on display directly across from the ticket office.

In 1904, Meyer Harrison, originated the idea of paying tribute to Mr. Moffat to show gratitude, respect, and affection of his friends, neighbors, and community members for all he had done for Denver and the State of Colorado. The result is this massive 42-inch-tall, 230-pound, solid silver and marble symbol of what Moffat’s efforts meant to their community. The spectacular Cup with its intricate etching of scenes along his new railroad was presented to Mr. Moffat on December 18, 1904 at a lavish ceremony within the State Capitol building.
